Democracy is one of the lenient system of government where people are govern by the collective decision of the majority through electoral processes.
Having the right to vote and be voted for is really the best system every nation could benefit from because of the absolute power vested on the common man to choose the leader of their choice who will better represent and protect their interest.
As a result of the nature and characteristic of this system of government, the vote of an individual, even the most insignificant man of the society becomes an active tool in deciding the fate of the country.
The vote of even the uncommon man can determine the leader of the country, challenge the status quo, and kick out an existing individual who is not making any positive contributory effort in moving the country ahead, but only driving it back to the land of uncertainty and obscurity.
Saturday, February 25, 2023 general election in Nigeria is another great tool and potent antidote to heal the country from her epileptic economic situation, poor and unhealthy infrastructure, porous security system and ineffective policies.
Evidently, Nigerian citizens are now in power because only them have the capacity to determine those who will decide and define their being for another four years. It is through this period they can rewrite the story of the country on a new page through their sincere and untainted involvement to select out of many candidates the leader who will drive them forward to greatness and innovations, or back to where they receive another strokes of sufferness.
It is imperative to unveil the dangers in exchanging vote for token and palliatives as this will not only jettison the opportunity to choose the best person base on competence and capability but blur our reasoning and shorten our sight in foreseeing the danger in not voting for the deserving person. Hence, the country continue to swim in the pool of underdevelopment.
Conclusively, PVC is not just a plastic for identity but a great deciding mechanism in the hands of commoners to eject, retain or replace new leaders who will be highly instrumental in the transformation of our dear country and achieve the better Nigeria everyone yarn for.
Therefore PVCs should be used judiciously!
